Application Instructions - Street Grip ground graphics

Step 1: GET A GRIP

Fathead Street Grips are made to be walked on, rained on and baked in the sun, but keep these two very important things in mind:

STREET GRIPS ARE NOT MOVABLE OR REUSABLE

DO NOT PUT YOUR STREET GRIP ON THE WALL

When applied to the right surface Street Grips can be removed without damaging the surface.

Recommended Surfaces:

  • Garage floors
  • Driveways
  • Sidewalks
  • Parking lots
  • Asphalt surfaces
  • Unsealed concrete
  • Pavers

DO NOT apply your Street Grip to:

  • Walls
  • Carpeted floors
  • Sealed floors such as wood, vinyl or linoleum
  • Vehicles
  • Any surface where you answer yes or maybe to this question: "If I need to remove this sometime in the future, is it going to ruin the surface?"

Start Flat, Stay Flat. Unroll your Street Grip sheet all the way and lay it flat for an hour before applying.

Step 2: GET RID OF THE GRIT

You've got a broom, right? Well use it. Sweep the area well before you start. If you feel the need, you can also wash the surface with water but make sure you let it dry completely. DO NOT use soap or cleaning agents. They can be bad for the adhesive and you bought this because it sticks

Step 3: GET BACKUP

Fathead Street Grips aren't just big, they're hefty as well. This is where having a buddy comes in handy. Above all, you do not want your Street Grip to get stuck to its self. That's when you start saying things you'll have to apologize for later. The only thing you want your Street Grip to grip is the surface you're putting it down on.

Step 4: GET DOWN

Remember: Street Grips are not movable or reusable so make sure you're putting it where you want it.

With help from a friend, start from one edge of your Fathead Street Grip and carefully peel it from its backing.

Your friend should be holding the side opposite you. At this point, position your Street Grip above the surface where you plan to place it. There may be some shuffling and a bit of clumsiness involved in this step.

Slowly lower your Street Grip and press it against the surface starting in the middle. Then push down and out from the middle in all directions making sure you get full contact across the entire surface. Using your feet is OK.

Step 5: GET UP…

…and admire your work. Because you put down your Fathead Street Grip in a place no one can miss, people are going to take notice. That's a good excuse to have a party, take some pictures, and break it in. Then connect with us and other fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

When it comes time to clean your Street Grip, some soap, water and a scrub brush are all you need. No abrasives or power washers please!
